  Yangon
The capital and gateway to Myanmar is called "The Garden City of The East" with lush tropical flowers, trees and beautiful lakes.Old colonial style buildings and people in traditional clothes can still be seen in the city.The glittering world famous "Shwedagon Pagoda" a 100 meters high and surrounded by many stupas, overlooks the city and affords a most wondrous scene.
 
Hlawga Wildlife Park
This park is about 45 minutes drive from the city centre.The park, which covers 1650 acres of land, and the lake are home to 70 kinds of animals and 90 species of birds.Flocks of migratory birds frequently visit the park.Elephant rides, boating and fishing are also available here.
 
  Pun Hlaing Golf Club
There are quite a number of golf courses in Yangon.Among them Pun Hlaing Golf Club is the best one available in Myanmar.The opening hours are from morning 6 till evening 6.It has 18 holes and you can hire golf-set, buggies, the umbrellas, trolleys, shoes and all equipment necessary for a good game of golf.
 
Thanlyin (Syriam)
An hour's drive from Yangon to thanlyin by crossing the Bago river by one of the longest bridges in Myanmar.Thanlyin was an ancient trading centre from the 14th to 17th century.One can see the ruins of a Catholic church, the ancient city wall and visit the Yele Pagoda, which literally means the pagoda at the centre of the river in Kyauktan Township.
 
  Bago
This ancient capital of the Mon Kingdom is located 80 km to the north of Yangon.The reclining Shwe thar Lyaung Buddha Image, which is 55 m in length and the Kyaikpun Pagoda, the Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda, and the Maha Zedi Pagoda are of historic fame.
 
Twante
A boat cruise to Twante, 24km from Yangon along the Twante Canal takes about two hours.Twante is noted for its pottery and cotton weaving industries and it also affords visitors an opportunity to see life along the canal and the beauty of the delta region.
Sightseeing in Twante on pony cart includes a tour to the local market, the Shwesandaw Pagoda and the Oh Bo pottery village.
 
  Pyay (Prome)
Situated on the eastern bank of the Ayeyarwaddy River, 286 km north of Yangon, it is a 5 hour drive from the capital.Pyay is the starting point for a visit to the ancient "Pyu" capital of "Theyekhittaya", one of Myanmar's most ancient capitals (5th to 9th century A.D).The Shwe Myet Hman Buddha Image in the vicinity with its gleaming spectacles is also interesting and worth a visit.People with poor eyesight or ailments often come to pray here.
